Xanadu Designs Earring Workshops

Create your own wearable art for ears!

Want to create your own fabulous leather earrings and learn simple jewellery making skills?

Want to explore your creative side with colour, pattern and design?

Then join me for a workshop of fun, creativity and personal expression as you design and make a pair of light, colourful statement earrings from salvaged leather.

As an accredited teacher, artist and designer, I adore sharing my passion and knowledge for all things colour, pattern and creative flair!

The workshops can be conducted in your own home or we can organise a suitable local venue.

 Perfect for:

  • A fabulous hens party for a creative bride
  • A quirky corporate / community team building workshop
  • A creative Christmas party
  • Or even just a super fun group activity to do with friends on the weekend!

In this two-hour workshop, you will be guided to express your unique creativity using salvaged leather to create a light, bright and totally fabulous pair of earrings.

We briefly explore design elements such as colour, contrast, pattern, shapes and basic jewellery design.

We then paint the leather in bright, contrasting patterns and cut, layer and craft a pair of earrings using simple tools and jewellery findings.

Each step is demonstrated and explained before moving to the next stage of the process.

All the leather and jewellery findings are supplied in an individual pack and the jewellery tools and paints will be shared using COVID safe protocols.

This 2 - hour workshop is suitable for everyone.

No jewellery-making experience required just a desire to create and have fun.

Enjoy a fun day time or evening session plus some sweet treats or a glass of bubbles depending on your group’s preference.

Best of all, everyone leaves with their own original pair of earrings and enough materials to make another pair at home.

Price: $105.00 per person

Includes a leather pack with jewellery components.

50% deposit is required when booking date is finalised.

The full class fee must be paid 7 days prior to the workshop.

A minimum of six participants is required to run the workshop.

I also cater for exclusive team building activities for your corporate office or a fantastic hens party. I can structure a workshop around your specific needs so please get in touch to discuss your unique requirements.

As a trained and accredited NSW High School teacher, I am also happy to run workshops for high school groups. Perfect for TAS and CAPA students and for retreat and wellbeing activities.

A little bit about Xanadu

My name is Christina and I am the artisan maker behind Xanadu Designs.

Hailing from the Inner West of Sydney, I am dedicated to sustainable, handcrafted jewellery that celebrates individuality, creativity and joyful colour.

I trained as a theatre designer and worked many years in the performing arts before becoming a Drama and film teacher. I spent the next ten years working in schools across Sydney before the need for a more creative and colourful life took hold.

I now combine my love of theatricality and colour in my jewellery and bring my years of teaching experience to create fun, creative and informative workshops.

Xanadu Designs has grown into a thriving small business and is sold online and available in stores across the East Coast of Australia, including Design A Space in Melbourne, The Artisan Nest in Newtown and The National Gallery of Australia, Canberra where I was commissioned to create an exclusive range for the Botticelli to Van Gogh Exhibition, 2021.
